the Weapons of our Warfare
It is no surprise by now that we are clearly at war. Not a war of the flesh but a war in the spirit...
It is said in 2 Corinthians 10:4, “for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.”
This is very true, all believers carry weapons of mass destruction in the spiritual realm. That is if your faith is strong and not wavering.
Often times we lack the understanding how to wield our weapons because it is not properly taught in the institution we call the modern day church. In order to wield your weapon properly you must understand what your weapons are.
So this article will consist of several parts...
What are our weapons and how to properly wield them.
What Our Weapons Consist of:
1. Armor Of YAH
The Armor Of YAH
The Armor of Yah is not just something that we read about. As a matter of fact most people think that the armor of Yah is found only in Ephesians 6 (read before reading this). But actually it is kind of like a legendary armor that is spread all throughout scripture.
If you like treasure hunting then let’s go digging for the Truth. Remember what Messiah says about treasure; “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)
Okay our first location is looking for the helmet of salvation and breastplate of righteousness which is located approximately in the coordinates of Isaiah 59:17,
“He put on righteousness like a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing; And wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle.” We must read this entire chapter to understand the context. This is the armor that our Messiah will wear as He returns to exact his vengeance on the wicked. So just as messiah test and proves His armor we must do the same. Now we must also have a belt so that we are girded with truth. On to the next set of coordinates
“I am the Vine of Truth, and my father is the farmer. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.” - John 15:1
Pay very closely attention to this and what Paul says in Ephesians. Paul states in Ephesians 6:14, “Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth,” okay here is the comparison to stand firm is what a root does for any plant, the stronger the root the more resistant the tree is when a strong wind comes to blow it down.
We must be able to stand strong in the face of adversity Psalms 1:2-3, “But his delight is in the Torah of Yahuah, And in His Torah he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.” So to gird yourself is to have your armor fastened tight in battle so that when you are maneuvering and fighting the good fight your equipment does not fall off or cause you to stumble.
Now lets seek the coordinates for the shield of faith, which is approximately in Psalm 91:5, “You shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor the Arrow That Flies by day.”.
Now why is this so important to understand, it is because our shield is Yah himself as stated in Psalm 28:7, “Yahuah is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him.” Remember we shall not be afraid, because fear cancels faith.
Now let’s seek our next piece of armor which is the footgear that we wear in preparation to spread the gospel of peace.
The location for this is in Isaiah 52:7
“How lovely on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace And brings good news of happiness, Who announces salvation, And says to Tsiyyon, “Your Elohim reigns!”
This is exactly as stated by our brethren that we must go in peace to spread the gospel. We must anticipate that while out spreading the gospel, there will be opposition that will persecute and maybe even kill you because of the Gospel.
As believers this is our duty to serve with a willing heart in righteousness, “the fruit of righteousness is sown of peace, of them that make peace” (James 3:18). In order to produce righteous fruit you must be able to go in peace and humility, not in hostility and violence which are the total opposites of righteousness and peace.
Now on to the most important piece of armor which is the sword of the Spirit. The Ruach Ha’Qodesh is needed for this entire armor to properly function. It is kind of like the mythical story of King Author and his sword excalibur.
Without it he had no power. Even though he had armor the armor was nothing without the power of that legendary sword. But this sword is not mythical it is real and we all should have the location to this particular piece of the armor.
Just in case you still don’t know where to look I will give you the coordinates to this one as well. Let’s go to the location of Acts 2:38, Peter said to them:
“Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Yeshuah Messiah for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Without true repentance you will not be able to pull this sword out of the stone. You must repent as stated in Romans 10:9-11, “that if you confess with your mouth Yeshuah as Master, and believe in your heart that Yah raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”
So, in conclusion:
The armor is simply more than just looking at Ephesians 6 and quoting it, it is true armor that Yah has given us to use in the face of battle while the war wages. The armor is scattered throughout many regions in scripture, but it is up to you to find those legendary pieces. This is just a few coordinates that I have, but there are many more. Be as the Berean’s and search out the many regions of Scripture where there are many more pieces hidden far and wide. Next time we will explore the weapon of prayer and why this is one of are most mighty weapons that we have in our arsenal. Be sure to check out all of the articles that will drop every month.
Blessings and shalom to all of the faithful believers.
